About Karin McKie

In the late aughts, Karin McKie/Tree Falls Productions did PR for 500 Clown’s “Frankenstein,” “Macbeth,” “Elephant Deal,” “Christmas,” and “Madame Barker’s Cabaret,” plus various special events.

After receiving a Creative Writing MFA, Karin regularly writes national arts reviews and features for Edge Publications, and published early modern scholarship inInterdisciplinary Humanities journal. She has also published in Washington Square Magazine, Today’s Chicago Woman, The Book: An Actor’s Guide to Chicago, andChicagoplays, and was managing editor for Perspective and Reed magazines. Her nonfiction radio commentary aired on Chicago Public Radio, and she wrote for DC’s WETA-TV, and for Time-Warner’s talk show “Four You.” She is an established stage, improvisation, voice-over and film performer.

In graduate school, Karin was a China/Taiwan Global Technology Initiative Scholar, and received several literary awards. She has been an educator for over 25 years, and currently teaches comparative literature and creative writing to students aged 10-adult.
