About Kristie Vuocolo
Kristie’s clown career began as a Monkey. She is a founding member of the Barrel of Monkeys, an arts education theater company that celebrates literacy, loudness, big characters and silly walks and has been running their public performance hit, “That’s weird, Grandma” for more than a decade. Along the way she was an ensemble member with the Neo-Futurists for several years writing and performing in Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind in Chicago and across the country. Other Neo credits include: City Girl!, Patriots, Roustabout: The Great Circus Train Wreck!, Daredevils Hamlet, and A Very Neo-Futurist Christmas Carol. Kristie has also worked with Blair Thomas & Co. in the Oxherder’s Tale, the Factory theater and was the supervisor for the Big Apple Circus Chicago Clown Care Unit from 2007 to 2013, a community program that brings classical circus and improvisational theater to bedsides in children’s hospitals and nursing homes.
