About Matt Thompson

Matt Thompson has been an active part of the professional music community since 1989. He recieved a Bachelor Of Arts in 1998 from DePaul University. His performance experience spans from violin and contrabass in professional classical ensembles to rock, but has largely focused as a jazz bassist. He has performed with Dick Oatts, Randy Brecker, Steve Houghton, Sheldon Berg, The New York Voices, The Mighty Blue Kings, Frank Catalano and Von Freeman.
As a producer Matt has credits with The Mighty Blue Kings, John Fournier, 500 Clown, Brian Deer, and Frisbie.
As a session bassist Matt has appeared on 30 + albums with the likes of childrens music artist Justin Roberts and the current global phenomenon Playing For Change and has additionally played on major motion picture soundtracks.
